The ring burned a "hole" in his pocket for a full month before their vacation to Hawaii. Lukas knew that this trip together would change their lives forever... and this was exciting! It was there on the beautiful white sandy beach he knew the time was perfect.
"She wasn't like any other girl I had met. I knew I loved Tai and I wanted to marry her," Lukas explained to me after the engagement session. A huge grin spread across Tai's face and her eyes twinkled as she leaned into the conversation and said, "Oooh, I have never really asked him how he knew. Lukas, is so wonderful! I love him so much. I couldn't ask for more."
Tai and Lukas I had a fabulous time photographing your engagement session and chatting over coffee. Your sweet Wilson is a love! I'm so excited to be part of your spring wedding next year. isn't he a doll?
So, you might remember adorable Lainey, who I photographed a month or so ago, well here is the whole gorgeous family. I have known Jeff and Julie for many years... I think the two of you were dating right? Or maybe it was even before that! Anyway, it is so good to see how beautiful the family has grown and to be part of capturing an evening of sweet moments. Thank you…
Family fall portrait sessions are in full swing! Last week, I had some outdoor fun photographing Michael, Linda, Mike, Luke, Victoria and Link (their oh so cute, Puggle). Mike, Luke and Victoria had me laughing so hard as they tried to make one another smile throughout their sitting. I love sibling rivalry! Cheers.
This past Saturday I had the pleasure of second shooting with Denise Neufeld a fabulous photographer from the Chico area. I thoroughly enjoy second shooting because this is where you fine tune your artistic eye and assist in capture those sweet-fleeting moments that happen throughout the day.
Brianna and Zachary were married at a beautiful private residence in the hills of Mokelumne.
With her veil in place, Brianna finally looked at her reflection in the mirror and she whispered with tears in her eyes, "I'm a bride."
Everything about this fall season makes me smile. The cold air, the trees changing colors, the smell of wood burning stoves mixed with pumpkin-spiced candles…they all enlighten my senses and give me a cuddly warm feeling inside. Ummmmm I adore this time of year! What a great lead into another installment of Love It or Leave it… Let’s start off with:
Leave It VIA: Starbuck's instant "micro" ground coffee: enjoyed it at first but nothing is like the real thing Potato Chips: did I really eat the whole bag? Bad Dreams: the ones that you have to wake yourself up from and stay awake for awhile so you don’t go back to dreaming them again.
Love It Sleep: sleep and more sleep Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup: with french bread please! Getting my nails did: my first time rocking black nail polish And this little man: one of our cutie pies serenading me this evening
To complete this entry, here is a sneak peek of my next wedding post...
It was Friday when I received a twitter message from the Wedding Chicks (soon to be brides: check them out) that a local photographer had been in a horrible motorcycle accident and his client’s wedding was the following day. I replied to the twitter message and twenty minutes later the phone rang... it was Adrianne. I can't even imagine what she was feeling at that time. We had a wonderful chat, emailed information and paperwork back and forth and twenty four hours later I was photographing Adrianne and Tony's beautiful wedding day in Vacaville.
What an amazing couple! So in love! You could feel a sense of assurance and peace in the room during the afternoon preparation. The two of them expressed to me that they just knew... this was it! From their first date of Streets of London and Scrabble they knew they had found their best friend, no need for the jitters. Tony is an incredible singer/songwriter and had prepared to seranade Adrianne... a little warm up. their first look... and yes...can you tell I love kissing poses? the reception was held at Vacaville's Opera House. Adrianne and Tony, I wish you much love and blessings in your marriage. Thank you for sharing your special day with me.
Special thanks to Carolyn Welch from Modesto, for second shooting with me on such a short notice. Flowers created by Visual Impact Designs. Wedding cake and cupcakes made by Babycakes Bakery in Sacramento. Super Fab DJ spinning awesome tunes, was Downtown Bob.
So, I have been slowly transitioning my business and website from Mariea Rummel - Bella Photography to just Mariea Rummel Photography. So if you would be so kind to check the website, the logo above and tell me what you think. I would love to hear your comments and ideas.
I always promise a picture or two in every blog post so, below is a sneak peek of next week's wedding post...
Last Friday evening I met Bryan, Sarah, Audrey and Mason in Old Folsom for their family session. They are old friends of mine, but we don't get to see each other that often because of our crazy schedules... thank God for Facebook! So, when we do find time to hang out, it's a treat. It is so much fun to see how much they have grown (the kids that is ;0) and to be able to experience a glimpse of their happy family dynamics.
What fun we had walking up and down the streets, looking for yummy light. I told Mason, "Mason, look in my lens...I think Larry the Cucumber is in there!" ummm I don't think he believed me. But, what a cute face!
